Wide Fire Hose is made from 6" wide repurposed fire hose, approximately 14-16" of exposed fire hose past the wooden handle. These are made from used fire hose and could have some scuffs and/or small dark spots. Hardwood handles are either maple, oak, or walnut lightly stained, and 2 coats of polyurethane. Handle is approx. 1.25" Thick. Weights almost 3lbs, also option to add 1lb shot Bag. Be advised, this is a hand-colored product so there could be light spots, or color may vary throughout the product, happy to provide more pictures prior to shipping. All items are handcrafted in my shop in Virginia. I usually have a variety of leather/raw materials in stock, in many different colors, and would be happy to make this, or any other of my products, to fit your specific preferences. No complaints at all about the craftsmanship — it is genuinely lovely and the purple against the oak is sharp. Shipping took longer than I hoped and I had to chase for a tracking number, which is the only reason this is not higher.
Bought my first from Don two years ago and it still looks new, so I came back for another colour. Consistency between the two is remarkable for something made by hand.
Really well made and the edges are finished beautifully. Only reason for four stars is that it is a little shorter than I pictured from the listing — entirely my misreading, not a fault of the piece. Would buy again.
Fire hose was a new one for me and I am completely converted. It is pure thud, no bite at all, and the surface warms up as you go. Heavier in the hand than I expected in the best way.
